Meconium Aspiration in Newborns: What You Need to Know
QuestionMy sister inlaw just had a baby (her first) she was in labor for long time the baby swallowed meconium and she said the dr told her once she goes home not to leave the house for a while this sound odd to me we have a outdoor family photo scheduled for this weekend that is know in limbo. Does the baby need to stay away from others and indoors?
AnswerEve,
I don't really have enough history to say one way or the other. It depends how early the baby was born. Sometimes with early babies, the doctor doesn't want them exposed to outside for a month or so. Sometimes you just have an old fashioned doctor that tell you that. She should listen to what the baby's MD recommends.
