QuestionQUESTION: Hi,
I had sex with my husband in Dec 2008. I didn't get my periods in Jan 2009 and again when I had sex with my husband in Feb 2009, I had bleeding for 10 days. I didn't get periods again in March 2009. When I went for a doctor checkup in May 2009, she told me that I am 20 weeks pregnant. How can it happen?
ANSWER: One out of every four women have some bleeding in the 1st trimester, so if a woman doesn't realize that she is pregnant, the bleeding can be mistaken for a period.
I hope that answers your question.

QUESTION: Hi,
The dates which I have given in the previous mail are just to make you understand my status. Right now, I have given birth to baby boy. He is normal and healthy. I had c-section. And right now, he is in 7th month. And I am still breast feeding him along with small quantities of rice and fruits. I didn't had sex with husband till 5 months after delivery, but had sex in the 6th month. What are the chances that I can become pregnant? (till now, I didn't get periods after delivery).
AnswerI am confused - the information from your different emails does not match up.
In your first email, you say that you had sex with your husband Dec 2008 and Feb 2009. In this last email, you said that you didn't have sex until 5-6 months after the birth of your son, who is now 7 months old, which would mean that you didn't have sex until April-May 2009. I'm not understanding which dates are correct and whether you are now pregnant or not.
If a doctor told you that you are now pregnant, then you are pregnant. Anytime you have sex, a pregnancy is always a possibility.
If you are not pregnant yet, and have not gotten your period yet, a pregnancy is still possible. Once you start feeding your baby other foods, it becomes more and more likely that you will ovulate. You ovulate one time before your first period after a birth, and if you have sex during your fertile time, even if it's only one time, you can definitely get pregnant. If you are trying to avoid pregnancy, I would suggest using contaceptives.
I hope that answers your question.
