Phyllodes Tumor & Mastectomy: Understanding Your Options & Future Fertility

good day.. i recently undergone a breast excision and the biopsy result is that it is phyllode tumor measuring 9x5cms. Benign but my surgeon advised me that it will have a big percentage of recurrence and is advising mastectomy than lumpectomy.. is mastectomy a good decision? Can I still get pregnant after I undergo it? After how many months will it be advisable to get pregnant?

That was a hard question! To really be able to answer I would need to read your pathology report. At the moment I have nothing to say against the opinion of your dr. and the tumor WAS quite big! So you should probably follow the advice of your dr. Yes yo can get pregnant. When to do it is better that you ask your gynecologist!
