Photosensitivity & Birth Control: Is Marvelon the Cause?

About 3 yrs ago i went to greece, and got a major sunrash kinda like small hives, i had recently changed mt birthcontrol pill to marvelon. I think this is what may have caused it, i have never had problems in the sun before, and since then have had major issues with this sun rash, i belive it is the bcp, any suggestions on what in the pill may cause this and suggestions of a pill that will not have as much of a photosensitviy as the marvelon i am on.

I'm not a physician so please check with your doctor about this. I don't recommend any kind of hormonal birth control because of risks and side effects. I don't believe that hormonal doses are healthy for our bodies. I looked up a search for marvelon and did find out that some other reports have said that women break out in acne or a rash. That could be similar to what has happened to you. I would recommend you going on a non-hormonal birth control method but of course, that is up to you. Just my opinion. Always check with your doctor about health matters.
