Birth Control Pills: When to Start & Emergency Contraception
Questioni got confused when to start taking the birth control. so i started them the Sunday after my period. what i wanted to know is if i took them the Sunday after my period, how long it is going to take to be protected, if i had unprotected sex should i go buy a plan B.
AnswerYou will have to look at the instructions or ask your doctor about when you should take the pills. I don't actually ever recommend birth control pills because of the hormonal possible side effects and risks. I usally recommend non-hormonal birth control methods. Also, I don't think taking Plan B or the morning after pill is wise, in my opinion. I recommend this article at http://www.optionline.org/questions/#need-to-know-about-the-morning-after-pill

There is really no such thing as "protected" sex. Any kind of birth control method is not 100% safe in preventing pregnancy.
