Ortho-TriCyclen Lo Pill Error: What to Do If You Took Two Pills

I'm currently taking Ortho-tricyclen lo pills. I have been on them since last July and have never missed a day. We just moved into a new home and with the stress of moving I got a day ahead of myself and took two pills in one day (one in the morning and one late evening). I thought I had forgotten and my husband told me it was Wednesday when it was really Tuesday so I took Wednesday's pill a little early. I am a Sunday start and just started a new pack this past Sunday so I'm only about three days into the white pills. Am I at risk here? Should I continue taking my pills a day early (...take Thursday's tomorrow, and Friday's on Thursday...etc.) or is it safe to skip tomorrow? My husband also suggested maybe just stretching out when I take them by taking them later and later in the evening until I'm back on track. Does that work?

Hi Carissa,

Your pregnancy risk isn't increased by the day early pills, so no worry there. Keep taking them on the day early schedule until the end of the pack. Your period will likley start a day early, or right on time, so that shouldn't change much. Then, get back on track with the next pack. Aside from a possible slight change in your period, no harm has been done, and eveything is fine.
