QuestionMy husband and I recently decided to start trying to conceive. I stopped my birth control (the Nuva Ring) Tuesday Oct 7. I have recently begun (Oct 9) a period as a result. How soon can I expect to be able to conceive (aka ovulate)? Would it help for me to take a OPK or would recently stopping birth control interfere with the test? Thank you for your time.

I tried to find the answer to your question and I did find out that you should have your period 2-3 days after removing the Nuva Ring. So that sounds like your situation was normal. Here's a webpage that might be helpful to you.

I have read articles that say it takes a few cycles to get pregnant. Perhaps the hormones linger in your body from the Nuva Ring.
Then I read an article that said you should have ovulation about 14 days after removing the nuva ring.
