Loestrin Fe Side Effects: Unexpected Bleeding & Concerns - Expert Advice

Im 19 years old and taking Loestrin 24. My doc prescribed it because it contains a small amount of iron(im anemic). Its the first time I've been on birth control and im scared the side effects I've been experiencing are a little abnormal. The 1st month was uneventful but during the 1st week of the 2nd pack, I started my period unexpectedly and strangely, I've been experiencing constant bleeding ever since. Im on the last day of the pack....still bleeding. Today I started having severe cramps. Severe to the point that im considering going to the emergency room. During this 2nd month, I've been very nauseous, my breasts have grown but they are also very sore all the time, im breaking out, im tired ALL the time and I've been feeling just overall weak. I think today will be my last day taking loestrin....or any other b/c pill actually.....I can't deal with the hormones. What should I do?

Hi Lia,
Since you didn't have any trouble the first month and are experiencing so many problems the second month, I don't think your symptoms are from the pill.  There's something else going on.  Nausea, breast swelling and soreness and tiredness are classic symptoms of pregnancy.  Do you think that's possible?  Going to the emergency room might be a good idea.
