Abortion Debate Preparation: Pro-Life Perspective & Key Questions

Question
hi deborah,
i'm participating in an abortion debate and was wondering if you could link me to a strong abortion debate between prolifers and prochoicers so as to give me an idea of what to expect?  and i was forced into the prolife team for some reason, could you also point out questions that i should look out for? (i don't want to be prolife but it would be nice to win the debate)  thanks!

Answer
Dear Jackie,

I have a blog entitled Why I am Pro-Choice:

This will answer frequently used debating tactics of pro-lifers.

Here is a website where pro-lifers and pro-choicers debate:
prochoicetalk.com

Here is a website where this debate also occurs, but there are many more pro-lifers here:

Typical pro-life arguments:

Abortion is murder.
Abortion is done for convenience.
A fetus is a baby.
Life begins at conception.

The biggest flaw in all of their arguments is that all of these statements are actually OPINIONS, not based in fact.  For the pro-choice side, all you have to remember is that in order for women to be considered fully human, we have to be able to control our own bodies.  All of the talk about the fetus is irrelevant.

Good luck,

Deb
