Post-Abortion Pregnancy Concerns: Brownish Discharge & Fetal Health

I am currently 20 weeks pregnant and have not told my doctor that a few years ago i had 2 abortions both at around 13 weeks. Last monday i had some brownish pink discharge. He put me on bed rest for a week but gave me no explanation. I'm currently looking for a new doctor because i am not comfortable with my current one but in the mean time i was wondering if you could tell me if this has anything to do with the abortions i had in the past and if my baby will be okay?

Hi dear Crystal,
bloodloss in midpregnancy is seldom. Some discharge may occur as the uterus stretches. Also some inflammation or irritation of the external os of the uterus can produce some discharge. Also "wild" intercourse can be the cause. Not a very serious condition, and some bedrest seems to be a wise advise.
So, this has nothing to do with former abortions. nor will it damage your baby.
Keep me posted. I think it will stop within a couple of weeks.
