Post-Abortion Bleeding & Birth Control: What to Expect

I just had an abortion an July 9 of this year. I went to my foloow up about a week ago still having large clots. The doctor had given me Reclipsen as a form of borth control, but I was having sever side effects, incldung blurred vision and abnormal aches.  I am now on my third day of Microgestin Fe 1/20 and i am having severe bleeding and large bloog clots. Is it normal to have the side effect with switching birth control after 4 weeks after an abortion?

This kind of bleeding you are experiencing with large blood clots and heavy flow is not typical of switching birth control.  It is more likely from the abortion itself, and you should call the clinic or doctor where you had the abortion completed.  They should talk about your symptoms with you, and decide if you need an evaluation.
