QuestionI was pregnenet for 7weeks and I did surgical abortion through D&c 4weeks ago. After that, I didn't bleed at all. Then, three days later, I started to bleed, it was not a heavy bleeding, it began lighter and lighter then stopped after 4 or 5 days. I thought it would totally stop, but I was wrong, sevall days later, it bleed again, but very little and turnned to be brown and then stopped after3or 4 days. And then the brown discharge goes on and off, not much, a little, no smell, One week ago,I went back to do the checkup exam, the clinician said it seems fine and they ran some urine test to confirm I was not pregnant anymore. But when i did the pregnancy test in my home yesterday, it showed I'm still pregnant . I'm still have the brown discharge right now, sometimes a little bit pink, ,it really bother me!
Could something be wrong? Is that possible my abortion is not compleleted? When the brown discharge could be done? Thanks for your help. I'm really worry about that.
AnswerHello, Momo,
To begin with, having an abortion is not normal, so neither is anything that happens afterwards. The fact that you are bleeding a little, and that you have brown blood, suggests that you were injured more than average, though the amount suggests the injury is not immediately dangerous. There are two places where that type of injury can occur. One is in the uterus itself, and the other is in the cervix. Damage to the cervix is of concern, because it can harm your future children. I imagine the clinician you are talking about is employed by the abortion facility where they did your abortion. These people cannot be trusted. Abortion is bad medicine, but they did it to you anyway. So you really need to check with a doctor who understands that abortion is bad medicine, because he will be conscientious in trying to find any damage that needs attention. I recommend you find a doctor by going to an organization near you that helps pregnant women, and women who have experienced abortion. You can find one by going here:

The fact you had some brown suggests to me that the injury is more likely to be in your uterus, but only a doctor will be able to say for sure. It is common for a pregnancy test to be positive for some weeks after abortion. The clinician may have told you that you are not pregnant anymore because the level of hormones is considerably less than it would have been at 7 weeks. The urine tests will probably be more accurate than a test you can buy at the drugstore, even though it is also used in the urine. It seems unlikely you are still pregnant.
If you start to bleed heavily, more heavily than you used to bleed during a period, please check with a doctor at that time.
In order to get good answers to your questions, and to feel it is OK to stop worrying, please go see a decent doctor.
Please take care of yourself. Abortion is dangerous, so please do not have another abortion in the future. Let me know how you do.
