Continuing Education for Massage Therapy Students: Seminars & Opportunities
QuestionI have just started my massage therapy course last week at Heritage College in Kansas City. I love the course and am excited to learn more. I believe that a key to success in any life puruit is to constantly keep learning! Even though I've just started my course would I be able to attend seminars offered at community centers, hospitals, other massage schools, etc during this time? I would imagine if I could do this it would look pretty good to a prospective massage employer.
Thanks.
Tom
AnswerThanks for your question, Tom.
From my and others' experienced feedback going thru the different levels of massage courses, I would highly recommend that you complete your Anatomy & Physiology, and Basic Swedish massage course first before taking on other electives. After you have that done, then I recommend taking whatever additional types of massage you want to provide or specialize in or offer to prospective employers/private clients. IMHO, the more varied in techniques you can offer, the more desirous you will be.
Hope that helps you.
