Antioxidants in Skincare: Do You Need More?

Question
Hi Linda, I was reading a health and beauty magazine that recommended to use face products with antioxidants in the morning and retinol products at night. The sunscreen I use contains antioxidants and was wondering if the rest of the products I use should contain antioxdants as well(moisturizer & eyecream) or is one product with anitioxidants good enough? I started using Yes to Blueberries, it contains blueberries which is an antioxidant. Do you think this a good brand for oily skin?

Answer
Dear Elsa~

Although I have heard of the line:  "Yes to Blueberries" I haven't actually used the products nor have I heard any feedback about them. You can always do an internet search with a product name, along with the word "reviews" and you'll see people blogging about whether or not they've had a positive experience with a product. What did we do before the internet?!

You can't get too many antioxidants....so no worries about overdosing on those. I used them in every product I can. Retinol itself possesses some antioxidant properties.

Skinceuticals and Dermadoctor have good antioxidant products for oily skin.

Glad to hear you're using sunscreen---so important. But, especially so if you're using Retinol products.

Best,

Linda Gearke
