Thyroid Medication & Hair Color Changes: What to Do?

Question
I have been on medication for thyroid issues for several yrs now.. My normal hair color has always been a shade of light redish brown all my life. With continuous use of thyroid medications my hair color seems to be getting darker for some reason. I have tried coloring my hair with over the counter drug store type hair colors and dyes, but my hair color will not change. Should I see a professional stylist for this? or am I fighting a losing battle? I dont like the darker hair and want back my lighter hair.
I NEED HELP !!

Answer
Hi, i just read your comment/rating, and i am terribly sorry. I was in a rush because i had to head to my mom's house and couldn't think of what i'll include. So what a professional hair stylist can do is possibly bleach your hair with volume 20, bleach is permanent, although your roots would grow out causing an unnatural look. Another thing is completely re dye your hair. But the thing is, pro salon dyes tend to fade out with in short period of time (ex. about a month to two).
Hope that makes everything better.
