Hey girls, how many times has it been that while trying your first eyeliner experience you smeared and teared up all together and got really sad hmmm? Or how many times has it been that you wanted to try out new colors of liners but got confused as to which color you wanna choose? So here’s providing u with a few simple techniques of wearing eyeliner and particularly a coloured eye liner.
Always remember this rule-the smaller your eyes are, the thinner your upper and lower lid lining should be to make your eyes bigger and prominent; and the larger and broader your eyes are, the thicker your lining should be to decrease the eye size and make it prominent yet perfect.
Here’s a step by step procedure on how to apply colored eyeliner :
If u want your eyes to shine then it’s a must that your eye lids should also have a base coat to them just like your face has a foundation/compact/concealer coat. So while putting the right stuff of base coat to your skin, don’t forget to put the right stuff of base coat to your under eyes and also to your eye lids.
Start off with the contrast color of eye shadow (like if you have decided to put on black eye liner) you should choose a contrast and a more lighter shade of eye shadow for the lid like light blue/light grey/light brown whichever you’ve decided to try on that day. Smoothly spread it with the perfect brush.
Moving on to step 3 which is to line your waterline. Here I must mention one thing, if you are using an eye liner or colored eye liner for the first time, its best if you go for the pencil eye liners rather than the liquid eyeliners. Choose the eye liner (you may choose to line your lower eye line with kajal if you want to be depending on that specific a look) in pencil form. First pull your lower eye lid down a little with the lashes and line your eyes carefully with 5-6 strokes.
Now coming to the upper eye lid, if you are using a pencil eye liner or a liquid liner then you should first start to keep it as close to the lash line as possible to give the first defined stroke of liner. Then depending on the look whether you want a tailed look or just a simple lining, that you have to decide. Many people find it difficult to line their upper eye lids. Here is what you should do. 3 ways of how you can do it:
a) If you are doing your right eye, keep your left eye open and carefully line the upper lid of the right eye.
b) If you find it difficult to keep to the lining perfectly or feel your hands are not keeping the lines straight then pull down your eye lashes with your right hand keeping the right eye closed and left eye open and then line the eyes.
c) Keep both your eyes open, and if you are lining your right eye then your right eye should be slightly opened and lined accordingly.
After you are done with your Step 4, move on to the upper eye lid crease and put a darker shade there than the shade on your eye lid and vice versa, like if you are going for a pale blue on the lid the go for a dark blue touch on the crease. It opens up your eyes. Put the same shade underneath your lower lashes for the extra crease.

Clockwise the next arrow facing to the left shows the lower crease, the next arrow facing upward shows the gap between the nose bone and the eye start point and lastly the arrow facing the right shows the upper crease.
Highlight your brow bones and the portion between your nose and eyes with a whitish lighter color. Not many know why this is done –firstly, the brow bones is done to make your eyes alive and your eye brows smart and perfect and to lift your eyes. The portion between the nose and eyes are highlighted to separate and highlight your eyes from your nose and show the gap between them prominently.

Special note for black liner and kajal lovers- people who love wearing kajal and can’t live without it and don’t wanna try colored eyeliner pencils well you can always high light your water line or your upper lash line after using kajal and black liner respectively with a glitter or shimmer finish colored liquid eye liner.
For the finished touch , coat your lashes with mascara in a zig zag manner from tip to root.
Experiment with colored eyes with colored contact lenses and colored eye liners.
