Foods to Avoid:
- The moment some food aggravates the symptoms, eliminate it from the diet to see whether there is improvement in the symptoms or not. If yes, then avoid it altogether.
- Do not consume anything with food additives, as research has proven that artificial colors, preservatives and flavors can result in hyperactivity in children with ADHD.
- In addition, aspartame and MSG should be eliminated from the ADHD diet.
- Sugar and sugary foods can make some children hyperactive. While there is no clear-cut evidence to show that sugar and sugary foods can cause ADHD, eliminating them from the diet can at times improve the symptoms.
