Boost Fertility: 7 Essential Facts for Couples Planning a Family

Fact number one is that you CAN take control of your fertility and this is not just a fact based on my experience - British and American research proves this fact.

Foresight, the association for the promotion of preconceptual health care in the United Kingdom has done studies on the effects of nutritional supplementation and lifestyle changes on fertility for couples who were previously infertile and they have found that at least 120 days of preconception preparation for both partners increased fertility by 78.4%, resulting in a take home baby rate of close to 100%.

A fact also confirmed by The March of Dimes - the leading non-profit organisation for pregnancy and baby health, based in the United States, who through their research have been able to show that promoting the health and wellness of women AND couples before pregnancy improves birth outcomes. Even Harvard Medical School has published studies, which conclusively prove that a fertility diet and a fertility lifestyle will dramatically improve fertility outcomes. So the fact is clear. Take control!

Fact two is you can naturally increase your chances of a natural conception even if you or your partner have been labelled "infertile". Although I partly covered this in the previous fact, it is key to reinforce the reality that a natural approach has what it takes to give you the results you are after even in cases where all hope seems to be lost. I've seen it happen in my practice over and over again - too many times to ignore it.

When done properly and addressing the health and fertility of both prospective parents this approach can be even more effective than IVF and other ART.

This brings me to number three and the fact that you can almost double your chances of having a healthy baby through IVF in cases where assisted reproduction is the only option for conception. I would only ever recommend IVF after a couple has done everything they could to prepare their bodies nutritionally and by ensuring all lifestyle factors are conducive to optimum health and fertility, even when taking the IVF route, because another study published by Foresight shows that when this is done the odds of being successful through assisted reproductive methods are at least 47.1% better!

Fact four: It is imperative to address your emotions as they related to fertility, particularly in cases of fertility problems. In my experience in helping couples deliver healthy babies and as I have touched on previously, emotional aspects are so very important when it comes to fertility and unless these are addressed and blockages removed the flow necessary for optimum fertility is broken.

I have literally experienced couples who had emotional blockages, remain infertile until they were resolved and once they were, conceive and deliver healthy babies - sure this is not the only answer and it doesn't affect everyone in the same way but it is where I say again that an effective, natural approach must be fully comprehensive and leave no obstacle to amazing health and incredible wellbeing in the way. Because in doing so, one's natural fertility is more likely to completely bloom.

Fact five: Reducing stress levels is paramount and having a quick, easy and effective therapeutic procedure to help you do so is the best way of ensuring balanced hormonal levels, which lead to optimum natural fertility; Although I don't fully subscribe to the theory of "just relax and you will fall pregnant" there is some truth to the statement.

As I discussed earlier in the recording the body is still very much wired for flight or flight, meaning it will just shut down anything not essential for warding off immediate danger so tools and techniques that will help you disengage that response will be extremely useful. Look for something that will work for you.

Fact six: Your diet, lifestyle, nutritional levels, radiation, environmental exposures including the cleaning products you use and your household pesticides of choice and even your recurring thoughts and behaviours can positively or negatively impact your fertility; You see, everything that will have an impact on your wellbeing and general health will have an impact on your ability to conceive and have a healthy baby and if you are having trouble, the best approach to guarantee you are at least closer to your objective is to positively change as many things you can, because the way I see it, when it comes to fertility it doesn't really matter the one specific thing that gets you over the line - what matters is that the combination of your efforts does so in a timely fashion!

At the end of the day what the body craves is balance and optimal function and when we give it what it needs; the body can do some miraculous things!

Finally fact seven relates to the very important fundamental base of a happy family, which I have also mentioned before. Unaddressed problems in your relationship with your partner can and often will negatively impact your fertility. Essentially when there is a great amount of ambivalence about whether the present or the present relationship is safe to bring a child into the world the body does the old "when in doubt, say no!" subconscious routine, keeping your conscious dream far away from becoming a reality. For optimum results it is paramount you address any issues within your primary relationship.

So you and your partner can work as a real team on all levels to ensure the happiest outcome for the highest good of all concerned. It may seem strange to think this way but if you were your prospective child looking into your home life and primary relationship with your partner - How would you be likely to feel? Excited to join in or reluctant? Based on this question, straight away start to identify how will YOU change your behaviour in order to elicit a different response from your partner and therefore improve the relationship?

Can you make these changes alone or do you need help? And if you need help, get busy in seeking it, but most importantly be committed to implementing those changes as a part of your day to day - because there is nothing more real than the saying: "For things out there to change, first, I must change", although initially that change may seem like hard work, eventually you will enjoy being the transformation.

Consciously balancing as many areas in your life as possible will give you and your prospective child the best possible start. Begin now!
