One of the most common artificial trees is the fir tree. This is the usual tree used during the holiday season. Some people prefer to use a live fir tree whereas others prefer to use an artificial tree. Even though you have an artificial tree, you do not have to accept a tree that looks thin and fake. It is possible to shape your artificial tree so it looks full just like a real fir tree.
Secure the bottom row of branches onto the bottom row-mounting bracket. In most cases, the branch has a small bent end, and that end slides into a corresponding hole on the mounting bracket. You will have evenly spaced branches around the bottom of the tree when completed.
Arrange each twig at a 45-degree angle to the branch. The tip of the twig should face away from the trunk of the tree. Keep the twigs flat.
Bend the first row of twigs located closest to the trunk downward. Bend the left twigs to approximately 7 o'clock, and bend the right twigs to approximately 5 o'clock.
Leave the second row of twigs on the branch positioned in the middle.
Bend the left twigs on the third row to 11 o'clock and bend the right twigs to 2 o'clock.
Repeat this process until you reach the tip of the branch, and then complete the process by arranging each branch mounted in the first row.
Mount the second row of branches and repeat the twig spreading process with that row. Repeat the process with each additional row until you complete the tree.
Stand back from the tree and walk around it. Look for open spots. Adjust the twigs on a branch from a row above or below the open spot so it fills in any gaps.
