Understanding Low-Fat Diets & Fish Oil for Cholesterol

I recently had a yearly physical and my cholesterol count is high.  I will receive the count (on paper) soon from my physician.  When she called with the results of the testing she said I should consider a low fat diet (I am somewhat familiar and do somewhat practice this) and or supplement with Fish oil capsules (to help lower the chol.).  What can you tell me about a SIMPLE lowfat diet and fish oil caps?  Thanks.

In order of importance:

exercise, get a total of 30 minutes of breathing hard every day, can be 3 x 10 minutes, 10 times 3 minutes, however you can sneak it in. Climb stairs, dance around, walk briskly, and you are required to enjoy it.

out with refined sugar, refined flour, white rice, cooked fruit. Yes, cholesterol is only in animal products, but you make your own. Many folks who have eliminated animal products, tried medication, got very little improvement, then dumped sugar and bad c plummeted

low fat, NOT no fat is good for anybody

quality fish oil, flax oil, no odor garlic pills
Niacin pills are radical, some people get long hot flush/flashes.

eat fish

and raw nuts

lots of plain water
