Diamond Jewelry Recycling & Custom Ring Design in Orlando, FL

Question
Hi Thomas,
We have a very small "collection" of various diamonds and jewelry that we would like reset etc. to create a new wedding ring and maybe other jewelry.  I don't know how to find a qualified and honest person we could work with.  We live in Orlando, FL.  Thanks

Answer
Dave,

To find a qualified jeweler means leg work and asking around. First, does the jeweler have a good reputation? Does the store have an in-house bench jeweler?  Having a working jeweler in-house generally means the sales staff is more knowledgeable about the sort of work you desire.

Do not go for the lowest price or the "quick fix it" sort of jeweler.

I have found that a jewelry store with in-house jeweler(s), selling better quality merchandise and with an established location is a good clue.  Honestly, this is a tough question to answer.

My employer knows several jewelry store owners in Florida and he mentioned two who are honest and dependable.  One is Jewelers of Maitland and one further away in Viera, where that might be! That store is Wesche Jewelers.

Perhaps one of these contact will help.

Now, back to basics, when working on items made from your stones, etc., get a feel for the willingness of the store to work with you, hear your thoughts and certainly to present you with new ideas.  The decision of what do do might take some time and is generally not a sudden 10min decision.  Get a firm estimate of price and turn around time.   If the staff assisting you seems the bit disinterested or wanting to push a particular design on you, say thanks and go somewhere else.

I do hope all this short answer will be of some help. Let me know if you need more by using the "follow-up" option.
