QuestionI have seen THE wedding dress that i want for my wedding, my only problem is that it zips up at the back and i want a tie up back. My question is can the back be changed from a zip to a tie up back?? is this possible??
thanks
AnswerHi Melissa!
Congrats on finding the near perfect dress! I know that can be a lot of work!
Without seeing the dress, I can't say for sure, but, in my experience, yes, with the help of a great seamstress, you should be able to get ties to replace the zipper.
The nice thing about wedding dresses is that they're mostly made from a set group of satins, silks, etc where the colors and fabrics are easily matched. Be sure to use a good seamstress who is experienced in not just hems and take-ins, but also has some design skills.
If the price is right, I would go for it! You can expect to pay roughly up to 10-20% of the cost of the dress on seamstress work for a wedding gown.
Good luck!
Melanie
