Delayed Tampon Removal: Symptoms & What to Do

Hi
Is it possible for a tampon to remain inside undetected for several weeks. The reason why I sound so vague is I thought I had inserted a tampon but when I went to remove it it could not be found ( so therefore thought I hadn't done so in the first place). I have had no symptons until now when I am having lower abdo pain and when i sit down it feels like there is something moving up causing me discomfort, I also have back pain and black blood at the end of period.
Please help

Thank you for writing me and I would urge you to go see a doctor although I have not heard of this before. It could be possible that you inserted it too far and with you walking and moving it may have gone up deeper be safe and have it checked out.
