QuestionHello, my name is Sara. I'm a 22 year old mommy. I'm about 5'3" and have a very "full" lower body. I want to invest in a peice of equipment but dont know what would be best for my body shape. I'm about 170lbs ((its mostly in my butt, hips, and stomach)) and since the new addition, I've been quite unsuccessfull in my quest to lose the weight I put on after he was born. Whats best in weight loss in the lower regins, that wont break my bank? Any other advice for fast weightloss would be appreciated also.
AnswerHi Sara,
Thank you for your question.
Congratulations on the new addition!!!
Quite honestly-some of the best exercises that you can do for your lower body are free:bodyweight exercises.
Walking Lunges
Stationary Lunges
Squats
Lateral Steps
Step ups.
You can buy a Step-"The Firm" makes a good one.
Doing bodyweight exercises will help to tone you up without bulking you up.
You can also buy a resistance band and do some upper body exercises:
Bicep curl
lateral raise
front raise
shoulder press.
Some good abdominal exercises include:
crunch
leg lifts
torso twists
side bends.
As for nutrition:
Make sure that you eat plenty of protein and carbohydrates-less sodium.
Protein:
tuna-lean turkey-lean chicken,etc.
Carbs:
rice-potatoes-pasta,etc.
Make sure that you are always well hydrated, too.
Good Luck-
Thank You-
