Aspartame and Pregnancy: Safety & Potential Risks

Question
34 y.o.  I have an 8 y.o female child.  LMP 5/12/04.  I am 4-6 weeks pregnant.  Is it safe to use aspartame during pregnancy?  So many chemical are category c or higher.
Is there any correlation between aspartame intake in toddlers and ADHD developing?

Answer
Nutrasweet is made up of aspartame and phenylalanine, both of which are found as essential amino acids in the body. They are safe for use during pregnancy, unless you happen to have an allergy to phenylalanine or are "Phenoketouric" from birth (which you would know about if you were).  I do not know of any correlation betwen aspartame intake and ADHD.
