Hello Antionette- the term during pregnancy is gestational diabetes. The blood test is to determine how well your pancreas is managing your blood sugar levels. However, these tests are very often inaccurate. Your best plan is to eat very well during your pregnancy and most problems can be avoided. You must eliminate ALL sugar and eat only 3 pieces of fruit a day. Avoid all flour products as well as pasta, white rice, and desserts. All the best- Cheri.
