Newborn Visitors: Safe Practices for Your Baby's Homecoming

Question
I am 24 years old, about 20 weeks pregnant, and have been reading a lot of information about being pregnant.  One thing I heard, but haven't been able to find any literature on is that when you bring your baby home for the first time you should limit the number of guests you have over.  Is this true or is it safe to have a lot of people in and out to see you newborn for the first time?

Answer
There are no restrictions to the number of visitors you can have when the baby comes home. However, I would caution visitors to refrain from smoking in front of the baby and I would not allow visitors with colds (upper respiratory infections) to be with the baby. Also avoid exposure to children with chicken-pox and other childhood illnesses. Otherwise, there is no rsstrictions.
