Group B Strep (GBS) Testing & Treatment During Pregnancy: What You Need to Know

Question
I wanted to know if I have been tested positive in the past for Group B Strep, which I was tested for not due to pregnancy, should I automaticly be treated no matter what the GBS test results say?

Answer
You will be tested during the pregnancy even if you were, at one time, positive for GBS. If you are negative this time, you will not be treated when you are in labor. However, if your urine is positive for GBS at any time during the pregnancy, you will be treated for GBS in labor.
