QuestionHi, I am so confused right now because I went to the doctor on Feb 12th and my doctor said that my uterus was at 11 weeks. I then went for a Ultrasound on 2-19-09 and they said that I was only 10 weeks. Here is where I am confused. I wasn't sexually active from Dec 8th through Jan 1st. so the dates are not matching up. Can it be that when she took my ultrasound I was actually 12 weeks and my baby was 10 weeks? the letters that were on my ultrasound were:
frq 8.0MHZ
GN 34
S/A 2/3
Map D/0/0
D 6.0 Cm
DR 72
FR 11 HZ
AO 69%
I have no Idea what those mean and I am so confused. Can you help me in figuring when I could have conceived? I also heard my baby's heartbeat at my 2-13 doctor visit. (when he said I was 11 weeks) I am not a skinny woman and I thought you couldn't hear the heartbeat that early unless you were real tiny??
AnswerDear Evanglina
There is no reason to worry at all. Usually ultrasound have falacies in the range of 2 weeks as a maximum so that if ur 10 weeks pregnant it may show that ur 10,11,12 weeks or 10, 9, 8 weeks from the other side. Moreover if ur doctor said that ur uterus is 11 weeks..this depends on the way of assessment..if he said so based on palpation of your abdomen and pelvis, then this is again a subject for some falacies.
We rely on the date of the first day of your last menestrual period to date pregnancy. If you are not sure of this date, we rely on serial ultrasounds at different pregnancy ages and not on a single ultrasound.
Good luck and wish you a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby.
