Pregnancy Risk in Perimenopause: Symptoms & Concerns

i am 49 years old and split up with my husband 2 years ago... ihavent had a period since ecxept for a small one about 18 months ago..... so i wasnt sure if i wam in the menopuse or if it was the strees and upset of the seperation.... i havae been getting a few hot flushes especially at night  but when i had a recent blood test to check my hormone levels it came back as normal.... i had unprotected sex on the weekend and wonder if i hav to worry about being pregnant

Many women report that doctors tell them their hormone levels are normal from blood tests. These same women have plenty of menopausal symptoms. You may want to try an alternative doctor. You have to have your doctor do a particular check to see if you are still ovulating and could become pregnant. Good luck.
***I apologize if I didn't make this answer clear enough. To clarify, you cannot assume that you are not ovulating even when the period stops. Which means you can still get pregnant. Again, you must have your doctor test for this.
