previous cycle at 15th day of cycle,i had dominant follicle about 22mm on left ovary. My doctor gave me 10000 iu hcg im and after 3 days u/s showed 24mm follicle on left ovary then after 2 days it became 26mm,then i took progesterone 200mg/day and when i did u/s the follicle became 24mm then 1 day prior to menses the follicle disappeared on u/s
My questions:
am i ovulating?
what did i have?lufs?
what is the cause of lufs?is it recurrent?
should i take birth control bills?
ANSWER: Hello dr-sherry from Egypt,
It sounds like you had a good natural cycle with one ovulatory sized follicle. It is difficult to know whether or not you ovulated because the ultrasound was done three days later. You could have ovulated because the ovulatory follicle will usually re-fill with fluid and become a corpus luteum cyst, that supports the luteal phase of the cycle. This will remain until either 8-10 weeks gestational age if you become pregnant, or until just before your period as you experienced in your cycle. At this point, I don't think you need to do anything different.

My husband did a semen analysis:
color greyish white
volume 2.5ml
ph 8
viscosity viscid
liquefaction time prolonged
total sperm count/ml 56,000,000
sperm count/ejaculate 140,000,000
motility -1st hour 50%
-2nd hour 40%
-3rd hour 30%
type of motility
rapid progressive 10%
slow progressive 25%
non progressive 15%
immotile 50%
abnormal forms 30%
type of abnormality amorphous pinpoint head and enlarged midpiece
agglutination absent
round cells/ml 280,000
spermatogenic cells/ml 100,000
wbcs/ml 180,000
rbcs/ml 1-3
trichomonas absent
I'd like to ask:
is motility normal?
what about viscosity?
is there any treatment required?what is it?
is there any effect on fertility?
please,i want full account about this semen analysis
AnswerHello Again,
This semen analysis is normal. We don't usually evaluate the motility past 1 hr so the 2 and 3 hrs motility are irrelevant. Based on WHO criteria, the motility and morphology are normal. Viscosity is also normal. No treatment is required for a sperm problem.
