Fertility Treatment Options in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | Expert Advice

Question
Dear Mr Ramirez
I don't really know where to start but google gave me your name so apologies if this isn't a question that should be directed to you. My husband & I have been going through various stages of fertility treatment for 7 years and are just about to try IUI before IVF. However, in August this year we are due to move to Saudi (Riyadh) and I am panicking slightly that we won't be able to continue our treatment or be made to start again! Can you recommend a clinic / hospital in Riyadh or online forum where I might be able to get some information and talk to a local specialist there?
Many thanks in advance
Sarah (from England)

Answer
Hello Sarah from the U.K.,

I am sorry but I am not familiar with any clinics or sources in Saudi Arabia (I'm also not very confident of the care there).  Sorry that I cannot help with this.  There might be an international health center or hospital staffed by European or American doctors, as often there are in the Middle East countries where there are lots of ex-pats.  I had a friend who was stationed in Saudi for several years through the U.S. Army and they told me of the "international city" where they lived and there was a medical facility there.  I don't know if an infertility specialist would be available.  My recommendation would be for you to have your husband check with his work to see what medical facilities are available to you.  I am sure that if they send employees there then they should have that information.  If he is moving to Saudi to take a new job there, then you might want to have him contact his new employer with the same inquiry.  Ultimately, it might be better for you to plan to travel to Europe for IVF if you have to.

Good Luck,
