PCOS, Amenorrhea & Weight: Can Lifestyle Changes Help?

Question
I have read about these things aswell as Oligomenorrhea. I have read these things can be caused by obesity and/or poor eating habits. I was wondering if someone had these problems once they were overweight and eating poorly, would these problems go away if they lost weight and started eating healthy?

Answer
Hello Penny,

Sorry for the delay in responding to your question.  I have been away and did not have access to the internet.

In some cases of PCO, reduction of the weight to normal levels will lead to normal functioning of the ovaries and regular menstrual cycles.

I would recommend that you look up my blog at Women's Health and Fertility Blog where I have several writings and a video regarding PCO.  In addition, I will be on an internet radio interview today at www.blogtalkradio.com/pcoschallenge discussing PCO.

Good Luck,
