QuestionHello,
We had our egg transfer this morning, and my wife, who is a very anxious person, convinced me that going to get a foot massage would help her get out of the house for a few minutes, but not be too strenuous.
Needless to say, this has of course made me quite anxious. The massage was a 30 minute massage at an Asian foot massage center nearby (Chicago). It's what it sounds like - 30 minutes on your back with someone rubbing your feet and ankles with a decent amount of pressure. There's not much jostling around, but you aren't perfectly still while they pick your legs up and down.
Am I doing what I usually do and overreacting, or if this round doesn't work, should I maybe avoid this next time?
Thank you.
AnswerHello Adam from the U.S. (Illinois),
The foot massage would have absolutely no impact on the outcome. Studies have shown that normal activity, including light exercise, do not have an impact. Despite this, most IVF centers will recommend that patients engage in light activity only for 3-5 days (the implantation period) for peace of mind.
