QuestionDear Dr. Ramirez,
I was wondering if you suggest DHEA to your patients to increase egg quality, and if so, how long is it okay to take it? I read somewhere that 75 mg a day is the recommended dose.
AnswerHello Melodie from the U.S. (Pennsylvania),
Although some studies in the long past have shown some improvement, after many years of availability, it has not proven to be of much benefit. Because of potential side effects from the medication, I do not use it or recommend it. As such, I don't have any specific recommendations on its use.
Good Luck,
