Pointy-Toe Shoes & Foot Health: Risks & Long-Term Effects
QuestionHi. I know you're not a podiatrist, but I was wondering if you can answer a question for me. Is there a way to wear pointy toe shoes without doing long term damage to my feet? I love wearing them, but I'm wondering what problems I might face later in life?
AnswerThe pointy toe shoes, especially with high heels, tend to jamb the toes together from the sides and chronically turns the big toe inward at its tip. Some people are more affected than others. If you have already been doing it for years, but your toes are still straight, then you are OK.... if you are starting to get a turn in the great toe, then it is worth holding off on the shoes and having a podiatrist look at them.
Hope this helps...
