QuestionPlease excuse me if the following is a duplicate. I didn't get the usual acknowledgement from Allexperts when I submitted the same followup question earlier.
The Cipro was prescribed by a urologist. I previously took Bactrim to no effect. What's left? Thanks.

Question -
I have taken eleven daily doses of 1000mg CiproXR for this condition, and expect to be on the drug for four weeks. Prostititus is suspected because there was nothing in my urine that pointed to anything else. The symptoms were frequent urination, soreness in the penis and bladder pain. The bladder pain resolved after a few days. The other symptoms have improved little, if at all. If the Cipro was working, would you expect to see more dramatic improvement by now? Thank you for your willingness to help.
Answer -
Yes, I would expect the other symptoms to be gone also. You may want to see a urologist if you have not already since Cipro does not always work.
AnswerThere is a lot left that you can do if your doctor believes they have run out of treatments, you have seen a urologist and had a cystoscopy and they agree with the treatments. OK?
You could take different antibiotics and cleansers such as cranberry juice in large amounts(quarts per day), macrobid, mandelamine, or nutritional supplements to improve your resistance and soothe the bladder.
