Toddler Vomiting and Diarrhea: Causes, Symptoms & When to Seek Help

Question
My two year old was vomitting yesterday, stopped by 3;30 p.m., he also had watery bowel movements 4.  He has had a fever that does not go higher than 101.3, with tylenol will stay at 99.  Today he vomitted once at noon time, and since then has had three waytery bowel movements.  I have been giving him about two ounces of pedialyte every two hours, he has been irritable, and sleeping on and off.  He has had 4 very wet diapers today.  Is this a vrus that will have to run it's course, should I seek more medical attention.  His doctor said yesterday that it usually lasts 2-3 days, and an ounce of liquid every hour would keep him hydrated.

Answer
I would consult your doctor frequently if the bowel movements continue watery. you may want to increase to 2 ounces of liquid every hour and be sure he is not irritable or his lips look dry. If these occur go to the ER immediately. You can never tell how many days these will last so be careful.
