QuestionRead your answer about left eye twitching. Mine has been twitching for 3 weeks now. Started a day after visiting my ophthalmologist. A numbing solution was applied to both eyes. My left eye has not stopped twitching since then. By that I mean it may stop for a few minutes to an hour and then the twitching starts all over again. Do I need to be concerned?
AnswerDear Philip,
I am sorry that you are having problems with that eye. It must be extremely annoying.
I really don't know why your eye has been twitching since your examination. I have heard of it happening to others after an examination. Usually, it goes away within a few weeks.
If you are not stressed or tired, have thyroid problems, or any of the other usual reasons, I would think that it will go away on it's own.
Please, though, call your eye doctor and tell them what happened. Almost always, this is more of an annoyance than something to worry about.
Please let me know if you can think of anything else. I would be more than happy to try and find out more. Also, you may try and contact one of the physicians on all experts. If you go to the category for fitness and medicine, and then click on the link to blindness/visual impairment. There are some opthamologists and optometrists listed as experts.
Best wishes,
Andrea
