Sinol Nasal Spray Review: Addressing Concerns & Exploring Alternatives

Question
Hi,

A month or so ago I saw you on TV reviewing a new OTC nasal spray for headaches called Sinol. You pretty much shot this product down and I was compelled to write you.
I have suffered from migraines since my teens and have been on prescriptions that keep me drowsy and sleepy while being used.
A few weeks ago I came across an article from the NY Times stating "Cayenne Pepper Relieves Headaches" with clinical back up from Harvard, Boston Medical College and others so I was compelled to go by Sinol and try it. My first experience was rapid relief from this product, within minutes my migraine had subsided and I have warded off a half a dozen headaches since. I believe you are a very respected physician but feel you did not research this far enough. As a MD for integrative Medicine I believe you need to give new edgy products like this a chance. I did not buy this product previously because of your statement on Channel 4 news that night, now I am a very happy Sinol user.

Answer
Sorry for your delay in having a chance to try it but there was and is no scientific evidence-based double-blinded cross-over studies to be able to recommend this product. Without these it is not possible to tell placebo responses from cause and effect. Good luck with your headaches
