Warts on Shoulder: Prevention & Concerns Before Removal
QuestionHello,
I have diagnosed the growth on my shoulder as a wart. I have an appt. in 2 weeks with my dermotologist to remove it. Until realizing it was a wart, I have touched it many times. I just read that touching a wart and then other skin can cause more warts to grow. Should I be concerned that I'm about to grow many warts? Can I do something to stop the growth of warts?
Thank you!
Lauren
Answerwarts are normal skin that become abnormal because a virus gets into them and makes the skin cells grow crazy... usually, intact skin is a good prevention against reinfection.... if you simply touched it, you should not have a problem.... when we get rid of them sometimes we have to chase them, meaning get rid of what is there and then in the future months get rid of what develops..... nothing to stop the growth though... if the virus is in the skin it is there, and it may not start growing abnormally for a few months......
