QuestionWe think my husband (60) has costochondritis. We brought him to the hospital with chest, shoulder and neck pain. Thy more or less rulled out the heart as every test they did (3 blood works, 3 ekg's, echo cardiogram, hulter mon.,etc. The sternum is painful to touch and most of the shoulder pain is concentrated in the left shoulder. He has trouble breathing. However it states you will get relief when laying down, his get worst. I've been giving him celebrex for the inflammation. Can he take a lunesta with celebrex? He cannot get a doctors apt. until Moday. I don't know if I'll make it to Monday with out getting some sleep as I am up with him.
Answerlunesta and celebrex can be taken together.
This may very well be costochondritis, but I would be much more comfortable if you had said he had a recent stress test or heart cath.
Also, the trouble breathing concerns me.... if it is simply because of pain, that is one thing, but if the trouble breathing is primary, I would be concerned that it isn't simply costochondritis. This could be a primary lung problem as well......
I hope this helps......
