Cesarean Birth Questions: Hair Removal & Catheter Insertion

Hi. I have a couple of questions about caesarean births. Do women still have their pubic and abdomen hair shaved during this procedure, or is that not done in hospitals anymore? Also, how is the catheter inserted in the bladder? Thanks

Generally, the hair is shaved at the top of the pubic hair line, where the incision is made.  Usually a Foley catheter is used, and is usually inserted after the mom has the spinal or epidural in place.
