Colon & Breast Cancer Treatment Options: Understanding Your Mother's Case

Question
Hi, I wish to seek advice over the best treatment of my mum's condition. In March this year, my mum went for a colonscope due to anaemia and they discovered two malignant tumours at two different parts of the colon. My mum's recent breast mammogram also revealed that she has a malignant tumour. In mid April, she underwent operation to remove the tumours. The surrounding lymph nodes around all the cancer tumours are tested negative of cancer cells. My oncologist suggested her to do one set of chemotherapy to reduce the risk of recurrence. As my mum has two types of cancer at the same time, I would like to find out what are some of the chemo drugs that are effective against both breast and colon cancers (and that has the fewest side effects).  As she is tested positive of estrogen receptors, I would also like to know whether there are any better drugs other than tamoxifen that are just as effective and has less side effects.  Thanks so much for your help!

Answer
I have answered you before, but I do not know if my previous answer was of any help. I am a Swede living in Sweden. I do not know what is available where you are, wherever that may be, and I know far too little about the clinical status of your mother to really be able to give advice on this really tricky question. Yes other hormonal drugs than Tamoxifen are available, but the same applies here as above. My advice is as before: discuss this with her drs.!
