Stage II Breast Cancer Treatment Options: TAC vs. AC - Expert Insights

Question
Hi. I have two tumors, one just under 3cm, the other just under 2. The larger is a grade 3, 9/9 tumor, er 45%, pr 55%, the other is a grade II tumor that is more highly er/pr positive. Lympho vascular invasion was seen with both tumors. Luckily, I was node negative. I am 38 years old, BRCA neg.

One oncologist is recommending TAC, the other says that only AC is warranted.  Which do you think is most appropriate?  Also, both say I should not get radiation because I had a mascectmy. Do you agree?

Thanks!

Answer
Personally I would give post surgical radiation therapy, but I'm both an oncologist & a radiation therapist. In the US unfortunately there is a certain rivalry between these to specialists. I think you should have have both chemo therapy and (if possible) anti hormonal therapy (which also means neutralization of your ovaries). However in your question you use a lot of acronyms that Americans are very fond of but which drive the rest of us crazy! I'm a Swede, living in Sweden and English is not even my first language. Please write out those things in full. That makes it easier to answer. If you give me that information I'll be able to answer more fully!
