Questionthe week after our thanksgiving (last week of Nov) I received a "deep tissue" bruise at the top of my breast tissue (so right above my actual breast. It had stopped hurting but started to hurt again this week, so I had it re-checked today.
I was told it has metastasized (think that's the right spelling).. what does that mean? I thought that was a cancer term? The doc assured me it is not, its just when the tissue around the bruise hardens. Have you heard of this before? What will it mean in the long term. Somehow I don't feel right with the doctor saying "oh its nothing to worry about, might just cause discomfort off and on"
Should I be looking for a different doctor?
AnswerWhat you describe seems to be the result of a trauma - a tissue injury due to some sort of accidental physical violence to your body. This is NOT a cancer situation. I'm here ONLY as a cancer doctor. So your question is outside my area of expertise here. Your question should be directed to an expert of general surgery. I'm not a surgeon , I'm a medical oncologist & radiation therapist. Good luck!
