Breast Lump: Understanding Causes & Next Steps After Ultrasound

Question
Two months ago I found a lump in my right breast I went to the doctors and they did an ultra sound the first doctor said not to worry about it that it was just fibrous tissues and would probably go away. I did not like this answer seeing as how she just looked at an ultra sound and decided that was it so I went to my regular doctor who ordered a biopsy done. That doctor did a Mammogram, ultrasound and a biopsy. When he did the ultra sound he said there appeared to be fluid built up in my duct and the mass was not perfectly round that it was abnormal in shape. He did the biopsy and they had to have three pathologists look at it to determine they did not think it was cancer, however; I did have abnormal cells they both recommend it be removed. I have an appointment on the 25th with the surgeon but could this still be cancer? I do not understand what abnormal cells mean? I guess I am just scared and would like an honest opinion of what this might be. Thanks

Answer
Yes I too think it should be removed! Your regular doctor did a good and correct job! It may still be cancer though the risk is probably rather small but we can not be certain either way without having it removed. Between cancer and not cancer there is an uncertain zone. Such cells are uncertain or abnormal or irregular. There are actually many names for it. So have it removed and we will KNOW! Please do keep me posted! Good luck!
