Post-Abortion Premature Ovarian Failure: Causes & What To Do

My LMP was 30 October 2012.  I had a surgical abortion on 16 January 2013 with a small bleed.  I have not had a period since.  Pregnancy tests are negative, urine clear and ultrasound clear.  I tried the pill for 2 cycles which did not bring on a period.

Is it a possibility that at 33 I have POF and is it just a coincidence or caused by the abortion?

Hi Vickie, I really can't diagnose over the internet so you really need to go to your doctor. I have worked with women having abortions for over 23 years and sometimes there are side effects after abortion. But I can't tell you that for sure in your case. Let me know what your doctor says.
