Bachelor's Degree in Massage Therapy: Is It Possible?

Question
I have already completed Massage School and have been practicing for 4 years. My question is, Is there any schools that offer a BA in Massage or Bodywork?

Answer
Hi Sophia

Massage schools currently fall under post secondary education. The institutions I've worked for have class curriculum's that are not transferable as college credits.

In other words you would have had to taken your massage training at a State and/or Federally recognized school to earn credits towards a BA.
As far as I know I have not seen a specific college criteria for massage therapy.

The advantage to our field is Continuing Education courses furthers our career objectives and enhances our skill set in the same manner as earning a "higher degree". Our success is primarily based on our results with our clients not necessarily with traditional academic achievements.

For example I manage a Spa and hire massage therapists here on the island. You could show me all your qualifications, degrees and training and I would congratulate you on your efforts. However when I book a massage with you that will be the deciding factor if you work with me or not.

To your success,
