QuestionI have heard that beauty schools offer regular nail tech services such as manicures, pedicures, and acrylics for a reduced price. However, I am concerned that it would be harmfull to my natural nails to go to such an inexperienced nail tech for acrylic services. Would it be dangerous?
AnswerI can not speak for individual schools.
At the school that I attended, they did not offer such services. Students had to bring a friend or family member in for their 'test runs' so to speak.
If a school near you offers such services at a reduced price, you need to think about the following:
- the student IS LEARNING and will take longer to do the service than an experienced tech
- the student IS LEARNING and may not have mastered certain techniques, such as filing, and so it is possible that the natural nail can become over filed and/or the enhancement may not look as 'perfect' as you'd like.
- if the school is offering such services, odds are that a teacher is in attendance, supervising the work being done.
All that said, you'd probably be better off at a school than at an NSS salon where damage is intentionally caused to the natural nail and/or foot where credo blades are ILLEGALLY used.

IF you can not afford the services of a qualified and experienced technician, then you would be better off going to a school than to an NSS salon using MMA.
I hope that this answer is of help to you.
